Fair price and delicious food
BBQ taste good
The place is descent and it is really very cheap. One bowl of char Siew rice is cad4.75 a bowl and a bowl of BBQ duck is only Cad 5. The char Siew is good and Hong Kong standard. The BBQ duck is good but lots of bone ,less meat. The meal is cheap and it come with a bowl of soup ,taste good No MSG. Do not expect good service as this place is run by couple around 60 yr old.
Hidden treasures at ultra cheap yummy meal... Hong Kong styles BBQ pork, Roast porks, BBQ ducks and Chicken... Awesome if you don't have much cash in wallet and too lazy run to bank.
Great foods with great tastes, great quantity and great prices. I went there literally everyday on my short Toronto trip. Love the BBQ pork served with rice and soup the most! I definitely will come back next time I visit Toronto. Great value!
Great noodle soup with BBQ Pork
This is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten. It is not expensive.
Under new ownership and the meat quality has changed. Still one of the best, but noticeable difference in quality vs before
Reasonable prices and relatively clean restaurant. Food is quite good for the price. I would eat there more often if the place was nicely renovated.
Not for everyone but a favourite of our family. The free bone soup is the best.
When my mom didn’t feel like cooking - my dad would always come here to get the duck, soya chicken, roast pig and/or bbq pork. The food here is so tasty and very reasonably priced!
Food made me alittle sick but the people nice
Awesome place to eat Chinese style steamed and roasted chicken , roasted pork, BBQ pork and roasted duck. Meal is under 10 bucks and comes with hot Chinese tea and hot chicken or pork soup. Yummy :)
I ordered the BBQ pork on rice, it was good portion but the food was cold and I was let down, I was offered to heat it in the microwave but that defeated the fact that it was called BBQ. With the title showing flames I at least expect the food to be warm
It's really hard to judge in this place..... Rost pork is the best in town, price is cheap(but cash only) but the front lady always act rude as a restaurant owner.....(& always speak Cantonese to me no wondering I dON't uNdeRsTAnd)If u love rost pork on rice, u should come. However, prepare to swallow owner's interesting service.
This is my favorite BBQ place in the Dundas/Spadina Chinatown area that I've tried. It's a no frills place like many of the restaurants in the area. I'd give it a 4.5 star if I could for the food.
Food was average. Duck was decent but the BBQ pork was sub par. Too sweet and too much sauce on it. It wasn't crispy at all.I read reviews about the BBQ pork being so good but there are a lot of better places than here for bbq pork.Edit* the pork was a lot better the next day! The sauce was infused with the meatPrices were good and the staff was nice.
Still a good place, but after the original owners passed - the flavor is not the same. Maybe this is a one time off thing. I will try it again.RIP
A meal for $10 with tax and tip ! I'm Canto and I would totally say the food is authentic
New owners way better than previous grumpy lady. Foods good. Grwat valye. Im starting to return as cluent again now that old owners are gone
Good BBQ pork duck and chicken, prompt service for takeout, reasonable prices, could use a paint job.
Huge portions and prices that cannot be beat, but there's definitely better cha siu out there. The free pork bone soup was great especially on a cold day like today.
Great little greasy spoon cantonese bbq with awesome food, sizable portion (comes with an extra bowl of pork bone broth soup) at an extremely affordable price, with most rice/noodle dish around/under $6-7. Cash only, so come stashed.
Best BBQ in this China Town. The rice bowls come with a great soup.
New owner. Lots of courtesy compared to former nasty owner. But, price jacked up a little though tasty.
I come to this special restaurant once a month since I enjoy the special air that is part of this restaurant. The personel is highly helpful and well trained. The service is very rapid. Also, the food they cook is magnificent. I visited many times and I was always happy. The payment is reasobable. I highly suggest this restaurant to my friends and family.
Fair price for food quality, size, and service. This is a small Chinese BBQ restaurant in Chinatown. Despite minimal decor, the meal was worth it. My pork belly was crispy on the skin and soft on the flesh, and BBQ pork was glazed well with a sweet honey sauce. I got the smaller size (bowl; larger size is "platter") and I couldn't even finish it. The waiter also gave us complimentary pork bone soup as during lunchtime. I will definitely visit again to try their other specialties!
Sadly I can't comment on the food. I have visited this restaurant 4 times now to get some take out. Everytime there is the same woman at the counter and the same man chopping the BBQ at the window. The woman ignores me every time I walk in while the man is busy at work. I don't know if she is racist or just doesn't know english. Whatever the reason - I see her helping the asian customers immediately while I appear to be invisible. I think 4 tries is plenty. Won't be back.
Quick lunch or dinner at super affordable prices
Their roasted duck and roasted pork is to die for! Decent price with huge portions. The couple who runs the shop are very friendly too. You just need to be aware that during the weekends, it can have long queues and full house.
Great place to sit down for a bowl of models or BBQ pork over rice. Cheap comfort food.
Definition of comfort food. Very crispy pork and duck
Best place for sweet and sour pork in the area, with not only great taste, but good value. I often go out of my way just to buy it here, and have been for quite some time.Quick service, and decent lighting inside. Plenty of tables for the amount of guests I see who sit down for a meal. There're a few places to park nearby - though mostly on the streets, you'll usually be able to park right next to the store. The traffic around the store can be a little dodgy, especially with the recent road construction, so getting to and out of the location can be a little trying. The staff generally don't appear too happy, but I guess they've been in the business for some time, so the energy isn't particularly there. In any case, they still provide good service in good time.Overall, I would definitely recommend this store if you are passing by and are curious about the food here.
Value for the money. Nostalgia. That's why you'd come here. Reminds me of my student days, when you pretty much have a huge appetite and not much more than the lint in your pockets. The bbq meats are pretty good, the serving sizes are very reasonable, and the prices are surprisingly low. However, this is the Chinatown equivalent of a grimy greasy spoon diner. Just know what to expect!
I expected alot more since Hong fatt is famous for their BBQ . We ordered broccoli with garlic sauce, rice with beef brisket and roasted pork. Broccoli and roasted pork were small dishes. Roasted pork was really salty and didn't taste fresh. We went there around 5:00. Was not late night . Bill was 30$. it was not cheap for China Town. That place only takes cash. Will go back again.
Nice little restaurant for dine in or take out.
Finest meat that I have had for the longest time.
AMAZING BBQ pork 👌🔥👌I think this place is my favourite place in the city to get char siu!!
I don't order chicken or roasted pork as they usually give us lots of bones and very little meat. I found the BBQ pork taste good and has no bones, best dish for the value. The soup is made fresh everyday. A stable in China Town. I have been eating there for over 30 years now.
BBQ pork among the best in the city. And cheap. Takeout is better dine-in is basic.
Hot, fresh and affordable, this is my go-to spot for Chinese bbq. It's a pretty modest set up run by very nice if busy folks. Getting takeout is pretty standard but if you take a seat, you'll get complimentary tea and soup with your meal. When the plates of rice are under $5, that's a steal.
Love this place as one of the last exclusive bbq restaurants. The prices are great. The staff may not be the friendliest but they are efficient and accommodating.
My go-to spot for barbecue pork. This place is authentic, delicious, and an absolute must if you want the classics. It’s also great to stop and have a meal.
Great value & price!😋
Best BBQ Duck and Pork at the best price!
I have been coming here since I was a kid and met the original owners. I always get there BBQ pork
Cannot go wrong. Large plate of Rice and BBQ pork with a little veggie for less than $8 with tax - plus a bonus bowl of broth.
Had takeout. Good bbq pork & soya sauce chicken wings. So so sweet & sour pork. Been around since at least mid 1960's albeit w different operators.
perfect. Duck and bbq pork highly recommend
New owner is so much nicer than previous owner. Food still good ,fair price and you get chinese soup with your meal.
This is just an ok BBQ place. Food is fine, for the price. It's not the best I've had. The noodles are a little soft, but some people like that. It's right in the heart of China Town, so it is definitely part of the ambiance. It does a lot business catering to parties and take out. That could explain the drab and plain decor of the eat in space.
Love coming here for the take out meats. Definitely one of the best Chinatown bbq joints. Their prices are one of the lowest and it's delicious and flavourful! Highly recommend :)
